Here are details to help you develop your event idea for Glasgow Tech Week 2026.
If any questions are not answer via the below please reach out to the team on info@glasgowcityinnovationdistrict.com.
To be part of Glasgow Tech Week, your event should contribute to the broader tech, digital and creative ecosystem, provide value and be inclusive for the community.
Here’s what we will consider:
Content Relevance
The event should align with the latest trends and activities in the tech, digital and creative ecosystem.
Target Audience
Clearly define your event’s audience to ensure it’s inclusive for all participants.
Community Value
How will your event benefit and deliver impact to the tech, digital and creative community and attendees?
Ecosystem Connection
How is your event directly related to supporting the development of the tech, digital, or creative sectors. For example: how to gain investment in the tech industry or the importance of diversity in the creative sector.
Unique Offering
We aim to prevent overlapping themes or audiences amongst events. What make your event distinctive compared to other ecosystem events?
We invite partners to host Glasgow-based events as well as online webinars (regardless of where the partner is based) .
You can submit your event to our online platform.
Please note that Thursday 10th September is reserved for Glasgow Tech Week’s main conference, Fusion Fest.
The GCID team will evaluate all the event submissions based on audience needs, event purpose, inclusivity and content.
The Glasgow City Innovation District team will review all applications collectively during the review period. Shortlisting will consider event theme, audience, format and how proposals align with the overall programme.
The GCID team offers comprehensive support to event organisers, including:

Cost
Participation in Glasgow Tech Week is free. However, venue and catering expenses are the responsibility of the event organiser.
When planning your event, consider the following key areas:
Focus and Content
“Content is King.” Start by defining a central theme that resonates with your target audience and aligns with your event’s objectives. Consider the best format – would a panel discussion, workshop, or a networking session suit your content best?
Venue Selection
Ensure your venue is accessible and convenient for your attendees. Consider transport links, proximity to the city centre, and the venue’s capacity and functionality. In previous years several events were held in unique office spaces, offering attendees a glimpse into normally unseen environments.
Remember, the venue should complement your event’s style and purpose, providing an engaging and comfortable setting for your audience.
Event Length
Not all events require a full day of programming. Popular events from last year included a 2 hour morning roundtable session, an evening drinks reception and a 2 hour panel session with a networking lunch.
