MedSnapp is a digital education platform combining AI, gamification, and short-form video to help medical students learn more effectively. Founded in 2024 by East Renfrewshire-based doctor Dr Haseeb Hamid, MedSnapp utilises traditional study tools like question banks and introduces interactive virtual patient simulations. The platform is fully gamified with users earning XP, badges, levelling up, and competing with peers to deliver a more engaging, personalised study experience.
While teaching as a doctor, Haseeb saw first-hand that medical students were still relying on outdated, passive learning resources. Backed by research with over 250 students, he launched MedSnapp. The aim was to offer something more practical and modern, starting with a mission to improve surgical education through scalable AI-generated virtual patients.
With the £10k funding given from Glasgow City Innovation District Venture Studio, MedSnapp aimed to automate and refine internal AI workflows and pipelines that would help generate surgical virtual “patients” that make up a core part of the MedSnapp app. This would reduce the manual workload in content creation and strengthen MedSnapp’s commercial readiness and competitive edge in the edtech sector.
“This Creative AI Challenge grant has been instrumental in enabling MedSnapp to build scalable AI-driven content, accelerating business growth and market competitiveness.”
