Innovation Accelerator

Glasgow City Region has been selected as one of three pilot areas across the UK to share £100 million funding for a new innovation and research accelerator, part of the UK Government’s Levelling Up plans.

GCID Venture Studio

Glasgow City Innovation District Venture Studio works with local and global partners to deliver on four pillars.  Each pillar is designed to support enterprise growth, respond to market and societal needs, and strengthen Glasgow’s position as a global innovation hub.

This project is funded by Glasgow City Council and the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Strathclyde Uni Campus

Investment Zone

GCID is supporting the University of Strathclyde who are leading Project PRISM (Platform for Scaling Responsive Space Systems Research, Innovation & Manufacturing) from the District. Project PRISM aims to enhance the UK’s space sector capabilities.

This is one of three projects Strathclyde is leading on as part of the £160 million UK Government Investment Zone funding in the Glasgow City Region.

Local Innovation Partnerships Fund (LIPF)

Glasgow is one of ten regions to benefit from £30 million in innovation funding from the UK Government to drive regional economic growth. The UKRI-led Local Innovation Partnerships Fund (LIPF) aims to empower innovation leadership through local 'triple helix' partnerships between civic institutions, industry and universities.
