Supporting business to thrive using flexible working

Flexibility Works is a boutique consultancy and training organisation based in Collabor8te in the District. They provide practical tools, support and resources to employers, helping them to create successful, flexible working cultures within their own organisations. As a Scottish social business, they make up a team of leading experts and commentators who bring a wide range of knowledge, insights, and practical experience. Their goal is to help both businesses and individuals thrive.

What is flexible working?

According to Flexibility Works, it’s a pattern that employees have some choice and control over and is agreed with the employer because it works best for both parties. There are many different types of flex, including part-time hours, compressed hours, job sharing, shift swaps, annualised hours, term-time working, and small adjustments to start and finish times.

We are delighted to be located within Collabor8te as part of the Innovation District. It is great to be part of a thriving ecosystem and supporting companies to develop their flexible working strategies.

Flexibility Works offers training and workshops, employability progammes, and flexible workplace accreditation. The Flexible Workplace Accreditation recognises organisations demonstrating strong practice across culture, leadership, transparency, and impact. Achieving this standard shows that an organisation has moved beyond policy to a truly flexible workplace culture; it’s an independent mark that demonstrates an approach with confidence.

Research from Flexibility Works shows flexible working is now common across Scotland, but access still varies by role and sector. Their workshops and training programmes help refresh staff knowledge and upskill both teams and managers about flexible working.
